Quantitative approaches are becoming increasingly important in the field of cell biology.   In recognition of this fact, the NSF has funded a five year project to promote the development of quantitative cell biology by bringing together researchers from different fields to explore shared approaches, develop new standards, and encourage communication and exchange of ideas and personnel.
